WordPress Auto-Publishing via REST API Explained
What auto-publishing actually means
When AI Blog Engine delivers 100 articles to your WordPress site, they don't appear as a zip file of text documents. They arrive as properly formatted WordPress draft posts — with headings, metadata, categories, tags, featured images, and SEO fields pre-filled — ready for your team to review and publish with a single click per article.
How the WordPress REST API works
WordPress exposes a REST API at /wp-json/wp/v2/posts that accepts authenticated POST requests to create, update, or publish content programmatically. Our pipeline authenticates with your WordPress installation using an Application Password (no plugin required for WordPress 5.6+), then submits each article as a structured JSON payload.
What each article delivery includes
- Post title and slug (SEO-optimised)
- Full HTML body with proper H1/H2/H3 structure
- Yoast SEO or RankMath meta description and focus keyword (if plugin installed)
- Categories and tags based on your content strategy
- Featured image (AI-generated, unique per article)
- Author attribution
- Status: draft (never auto-published without your approval)
Important: All articles are delivered as drafts. Nothing goes live on your site without your explicit review and approval. You maintain complete editorial control.
What if I don't use WordPress?
We deliver to any CMS via the same pipeline — formatted JSON (importable to most modern CMS platforms), clean HTML files (drag-and-drop to any builder), or Word .docx documents (for editorial review workflows). The WordPress API delivery is the most efficient, but it's not a requirement.
